Welcome back after a fun Winter Break! I hope that everyone had a chance to have some down time, visit with family and friends and read a good book. I did all those things and even had a little bit of time for travel. We visited Nashville and listened to some great Honky Tonk music, ate some very tasty food, and visited the Country Music Hall of Fame.
I also had a chance to read blogs from other elementary librarians, which is always a great wealth of information and new ideas. I knew that I wanted to try centers again, and after reading a blog by the Elementary Librarian, I decided that this was just what we needed at Parkway. Centers allows me to work with small groups of students on new skills and gives other students a chance to explore something new or practice and hone existing skills. We'll start small and grow the centers as the year progresses.
